- The process begins with determining the visa status category for the Foreign National. Choosing the right Visa category is crucial to avoid denial of Visa.
- Submit an application to a U.S. government agency while in their home country, usually a US consulate or Embassy.
- Afterwards a Visa Interview is scheduled for the applicant to express why they intend to travel to the United States.
- Once the visa (status) application has been approved, the Foreign National must visit the local U.S. consulate for the issuance of a visa stamp.
- The Foreign National may then travel to the U.S. where they present their visa stamp and status paperwork to an official at a port of entry.
Visa Exempt
There are times when a visa is required to enter and times when one is not, these are known as visa exempts. This may be granted due to the length of stay, visit purpose or the foreign national’s country of citizenship.
